This year's Victoria Street Lunar Festival was able to take place...with a difference! The event returned in 2021 by welcoming the Year of the Ox.

The Vietnamese heart of Richmond came to life in true hawker food style focusing on the outdoor dining experience. Local restaurants extended their trade to footpath dining, and some food stalls were located along Victoria Street, each with its own dining areas.

The event operated as a COVIDsafe event was able to proceed with some changes which meant that regular activities such as carnival rides, eating competitions and entertainment stages were not included in this year’s programming.

The famous Lion Dance, Dragon dancers and firecrackers were luckily still on show throughout the day. The Victoria Street Lunar Festival has become one of the most popular Lunar New Year celebrations in Victoria.
